Super Fast Cure TGIC Polyester Resin for Coil or PCM Powder Coatings
◎Introduction
KK8048 is saturated carboxyl polyester resin for polyester/TGIC powder coating used in coil or PCM.
Different from the traditional "post coating" process, the coating of coiled materials is a "pre coating" process. Because this coating process has the advantages of simplifying the production process, improving the construction efficiency, saving investment and transfer costs, and superior performance to traditional methods. Therefore, whether in paint or other types of coatings, it is one of the development trends of the coatings industry in the future.
It was successfully developed and popularized in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Up to now, almost all pre coated coil steel plates are coated with liquid coil paint. However, traditional liquid coil coatings contain organic solvents (VOC) harmful to the environment. The powder coating is a kind of powder material without any organic solvent and has the advantage of zero VOC emission. It is one of the best choices to replace the traditional liquid coil coating.
In addition, as China pays more attention to environmental protection, coating manufacturers are forced to develop products and technologies that can replace traditional liquid coil coatings. The main technical bottleneck of coil powder coating is rapid coating and rapid curing. The former involves coating equipment and process, while the latter involves formulation and curing mode of powder coating.
