93:7 Saturated Polyester Resin with Excellent Leveling for TGIC Powder Coatings
◎Introduction
NH3309T is a saturated polyester resin, mainly used in polyester/TGIC powder coating systems, with excellent leveling. It can also be used with acrylic matting resin or other physical matting agents to make low-gloss or matt coatings with good results.
Models with a T indicate powder coatings made with this polyester resin that can be sprayed with a friction gun.
At present, the common powder coating spraying processes are electrostatic spraying and friction gun spraying. Electrostatic spraying is widely used in China because of its low requirements for powder coatings. However, due to the Faraday cage (shielding) effect, there will be dead corners on complex workpieces, and some corners are difficult to powder.
Although the electrostatic gun has been improved many times, the Faraday cage effect can only be reduced, but cannot be avoided. The friction gun spraying can well solve the problem of powder coating in the dead corner of complex workpieces, but it also puts forward higher requirements for the electrification of powder coatings.
The working principle of the friction gun is to use frictional electrification to charge the powder. The charge is generated by the collision, friction, contact, and clutching between the powder and the special polymer material and nylon in the gun wall. The driving force is the airflow.
NH3309T is a friction-type polyester resin, which has a very good effect on frictional electrification. It is used by customers at home and abroad, and the effect is very ideal.
